Green mobility and infrastructure for charging stands
NIRAS works to make infrastructure and transportation in society greener. Among other things, we have a strong focus on expanding the infrastructure for charging stands for the electrical vehicles of the future as well as consulting both municipalities and private companies on green mobility.
Green mobility
Green mobility is basically a question of how to carry out our transportation in a different manner in order to consume less energy.
The transportation sector is responsible for a large part of the environmental and climate impact in our society, but unlike other sectors the negative impact of the transportation sector has not diminished in the last decades. We have to change that and we will do so by making the mobility that connects society greener.
We have to change our habits of transportation and find new energy sources for the means of transportation that we already are using today. Changed habits of transportation with an increased focus on collective and active transportation are relevant in relation to shorter distances in cities, etc., whereas fossil-free energy will be relevant for cars or trucks on longer distances.
At NIRAS, we offer consultancy within both areas and we are proud to be part of the green transition within the transportation sector.
Infrastructure for charging stands
The use of wind energy instead of petrol and diesel constitutes an important part of the green transition of the transportation sector. In order for this transition to succeed, it is necessary to expand the infrastructure for charging stands so you can charge your car whenever the need arises.
In cooperation with local authorities, private companies and charging stand companies, NIRAS contributes to creating the necessary infrastructure in both cities and rural areas. It has to be possible to charge your car on shorter daily trips as well as on longer tours across the country – or the continent.
From vision to infrastructure
NIRAS offers consultancy in the entire process from designing the visions and the strategies for green mobility, mapping the need for infrastructure and project planning of the necessary technical facilities.
Our expert planners and mobility consultants help creating the strategic overview and will put it into the respective contexts of municipalities, local authorities or companies.
Our traffic engineers and consultants in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) will map the physical framework and the need for green mobility, and our road and infrastructure consultants and our tender experts make sure the projects will cross the finish line and be implemented.
