NIRAS provides comprehensive consulting services in relation to port terminals, coastal and marine civil works. We have more than 300 experts involved in ports and marine structure projects all over the world. Our experts are based in our offices in Denmark and in different locations around the globe. ​

The expertise of our experts covers all project phases including master planning, feasibility studies, input to environmental impact assessments (EIAs), consent, due diligence, design, construction supervision and project management.

In addition, NIRAS can be involved in the whole lifecycle of marine assets providing inspection and maintenance services as well as maintenance dredging design and management.

NIRAS and Per Aarsleff A/S collaborate on a new port expansion in Varberg, Sweden

NIRAS is acting as a consultant for the Danish infrastructure contractor Per Aarsleff A/S in a major project involving the construction of a section of Varberg Port in Sweden. NIRAS has been responsible for executing the turnkey contract. The project, which spans from 2021 to June 2024, is designed for the storage and shipment of wood products.

Świnoujście Container Terminal in Poland

DEME Concessions N.V. (Belgium) and QTerminals W.L.L. (the “Investor” in Qatar) have signed a preliminary lease agreement in 2023 with the Szczecin and Swinoujscie Seaports Authority for a deep-water container terminal. The proposed Swinoujscie Container Terminal is to be located in the coastal town of Świnoujście in the Baltic Sea, and is to be designed and built by the investor.
