- SECTORS: Food & Beverage
- COUNTRIES: Norway
A long-term partnership
Ryfisk, a subsidiary of MOWI, is one of the leading salmon producers in Norway. The company has been working with NIRAS since mid-90’, when the initial contact was made to assist in developing Ryfisk’s plant into a modern salmon producing facility.
Taking the masterplan approach
NIRAS and Ryfisk adopted a masterplan approach, which involved the client and their expectations for sales and production. The masterplan formed a solid tool for developing the plant, keeping focus on the final goal. In the process, Ryfisk had the advantage of NIRAS's combined expert knowledge on processing, hygiene, internal logistics, buildings and supply plants, which together form a 3D approach to planning a processing plant.
Delivering comprehensive service
NIRAS had assisted Ryfisk in all steps up to tendering and supervision, covering foundation planning, conceptual design, detailed design, tendering and supervision on buildings, refrigeration & process ventilation and processing equipment. The most recent steps for NIRAS were planning for a significant increase in fileting, involving the newest technologies.
…= a successful outcome
The result of the collaboration between NIRAS and Ryfisk was a state-of-the-art salmon production plant that met the highest standards of quality, efficiency and sustainability. The plant increased its production capacity, improved its product quality and reduced its environmental impact, and the project was a testament to the benefits of long-term partnerships, a masterplan approach, and experts working together to achieve the optimal result for the client.
