NIRAS Fundamentals, Policies & Ethics

Policies & Ethics

We are on a mission to secure sustainable progress of society by excellence in project delivery and organic growth, developing solutions for a better, more equal and stable world. We do this by living our values: Listen, learn and deliver. Living our values is a key differentiator for our organisation. The NIRAS Fundamentals help keep us on the right track and to ensure we have shared goals in why, how and what we do.

Ethical business practices and accountability to customers, employees and society are integral to our corporate values and the way we work. We take our responsibility towards climate change and the environment very seriously in our approach to both the services we offer and the operation of our business. NIRAS is a signatory to the UN's Global Compact and a member of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC). Thus, we are committed to corporate social responsibility values and in compliance with  ten principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

It is NIRAS' policy to conduct all activities with a high degree of responsibility towards human health, safety and welfare. Health and safety guidelines are driven and developed country wide to bring value locally and be in compliance within local culture, laws and rules.

Our HR policy is designed to support the implementation of the NIRAS Fundamentals. Like health and safety guidelines, HR-related policies are driven and developed countrywide to bring value locally and be in sync with local culture, laws and rules. Therefore many of our tools and processes can be adapted for use in different parts of the globe. Examples of worldwide policies are how we approach excessive alcohol consumption and dependency, our policy on bullying and how we handle sexual harassment.

In NIRAS, all people have equal value and should have the right to equal opportunities to reach their full potential. We believe that diversity among employees broadens our perspectives. We strive to continue to create an inclusive workplace and culture that offers equal opportunities and supports diversity.

The EDI policy supports and sets the direction for the work at group level and locally in the individual country. NIRAS operates in countries with legal-, cultural- and labor market differences, and we therefore work with adapted local plans and actions.
