Management and responsibilities

NIRAS is organised by sector with a number of Business Units operating in each one. Every Business Unit has a management team. The Vice President of the business Unit has the overall responsibility and refers to the Senior Vice President of the sector.

All management tasks within the five areas of responsibility (Business Management, Employees, Projects, Professional Expertise, and Market/Sales) are clearly allocated between the members of the management team.

In order to fulfil the tasks and responsibilities, key factors for the management team are close cooperation, dialogue, coordination, joint prioritisation, and mutual support.

Business Unit management team members have the following titles: Vice President, Head of Department, Project Director, Senior Project Director, Expertise Director and Market Director.

Each management team agrees on division of tasks and responsibilities, meaning that the composition can differ from business unit to business unit and that the set-up in the management team can change over time.

Leadership in NIRAS

Capable and skilful management is the basis of running a sound business and creating a good working life for NIRAS employees.

As a leader in NIRAS, it is important that you are constantly working with your own development. This involves that you reflect on your own leadership performance, are open to feedback, and are aware of your strengths and potential for improvement.

Leaders are constantly operating in a context of change and in the crossfield of projects, customers, business goals and employee needs. There are no standard solutions or shortcuts for how to execute leadership in NIRAS as it is always context driven. This means that every leader must reflect upon his or her leadership challenges and how to be the best leader in that particular context.

At NIRAS, we have defined nine areas of expertise in leadership behaviour, which form the basis of exercising good leadership and which we use when reflecting on our own and each other's leadership skills. We support your leadership development with courses, programmes and networking with colleagues.
