Your first days at NIRAS
Onboarding at NIRAS is much more than just a formal training and balancing of expectations. Besides daily work, tools and practicalities, you will be introduced to NIRAS' values, culture, history and strategy.
We know that we all perform better when we:
- Can see the purpose of what we do
- Feel that we are contributing
- Are a part of a team
We aim to continue to create an inclusive workplace and a culture where we all have a sense of belonging. Our goal is to have employees who fulfill their job with pride and meet their full potential.
As a new employee, your contact colleague (buddy), manager and other colleagues are all there to help you get started.
Career opportunities
All employees have a career and develop continuously. Whether you are a consultant, coordinator, project manager, specialist, designer, controller or manager, you have great opportunities to develop your career in NIRAS. We each have different professional and personal skills, combined with diverse expectations of our working life as well as different possibilities in relation to the balance between work and private life.
At NIRAS, we have four dynamic career paths where employees can develop over time and throughout their working life, in relation to professional skills, tasks and responsibilities.
- Expertise
- Project Management
- Market and Sales
- Line Management
As an employee you have the opportunity to adjust your role, responsibilities and to change your career path. Together with your manager, you will find the role, tasks and responsibilities that match your skills, commitment, motivation and opportunities in relation to your work and life situation.
Your development
We have various tools and activities supporting our goal to ensure that you will experience the opportunity to reach your full potential in NIRAS.
It is important to emphasise that your primary development is "on the job" in everyday life through new challenges, exciting projects, cooperation with colleagues, network and new partnerships. We call this approach "Learning in projects”.
An ongoing dialogue with your manager together with our yearly Employee Development Dialogue helps secure your development and clarify mutual expectations. It is important that you take initiative for your own development and seek out possibilities. Your development and the career opportunities that lies ahead are the joint responsibility of you and your manager.
Most development activities are driven and developed in our local subsidiaries to bring value locally.
We offer many development activities across country borders, including project management and leadership courses, a talent management, and young professional programme and some sales activities. Once you are onboard you can look up the possibilities in NIRAS Academy on the intranet.
