Professional Experience Required for International Wastewater Modeler/Engineer Position: Wastewater Management Practices Review: Proven experience in evaluating wastewater management practices, assessing effluent standards, and identifying design and management practices from regions in Southeast Asia or similar geographical locations. Technical Solutions and Recommendations: Demonstrated ability to identify and recommend suitable technical solutions, including design methodologies, as well as operation and maintenance requirements for wastewater systems. Technical Guidelines Development: Expertise in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop technical guidelines for wastewater system design and management, including establishing and refining design criteria. Capacity Development and Sector Promotion: Experience contributing to capacity development programs aimed at promoting water supply and sanitation sector frameworks and technical guidelines, with a focus on practical implementation and sustainability.

NIRAS is currently looking for an International Wastewater Modeler/Engineer for one ADB-funded project in Laos PDR. The objective of the assignment is to assess the baseline performance of the provincial nam papas (provincial water utilities, or PNPs) against key financial and operational performance indicators and to develop regulatory planning tools that will: (i) Improve the technical capacity of the DWS and the PNPs in understanding how to manage and operate water supply and sanitation assets efficiently and how to identify and include climate change impacts on operation and maintenance (O&M) services. (ii) Promote and improve financial management, asset management, nonrevenue water (NRW) management, and proactive O&M of water supply and sanitation services. (iii) Guide the development of a sustainable and resilient water supply and sanitation sector. Scope of Services under this project Output 1: Regulatory environment of the water supply and sanitation sector improved. Output 2: Institutional and technical capacity enhanced.
