The large uncertainties in the prognosis for sea-level rise force us to develop future-proof climate adaptation pathways, which are adaptable and can be adapted according to future changes in risk. In certain conditions, the solution is maybe not to build a wall or a dike, which is non-adjustable as the sea rises more than expected – perhaps the solution is to relocate infrastructure and the cities further away from the coast?
As a result of climate change uncertainty, it is important to catalogue potential solutions that may be put to use depending on the change in risk scenario. This aims to prevent unnecessary investment in climate change adaptation solutions that will tie us down in the future. DAPP is about climate change adaptation under changing and uncertain risk. It is a method to define an adaptive plan and evaluate possible solutions to avoid adaptation thresholds under climate change uncertainty.
During this webinar, you will receive an introduction as to why we need DAPP. How do we apply DAPP most suitably in terms of climate adaptation? Is there any experience with DAPP, we should be especially attentive to?
These questions are crucial when you wish to work with DAPP, risk management and climate adaptation.
